optimize your morning routine + Rituals
Put your water bottle by your bed the night before. Have it filled up and ready to go so you can hydrate from the moment you open your eyes. I like to jazz up my hydroflask the night before with a squeeze of lemon, a tablespoon of Grants Chloropyll, and a few slices of cucumber. It is the most thirst-quenching concoction and makes drinking water less boring!
TONGUE SCRAPING! If you don’t have a tongue scraper.. let this be your sign! I use a copper tongue scraper from Yoga Tribe of Love. It helps to get rid of bacteria, debris, and dead skin cells!! I swear it makes your breath fresher throughout the day and it is so satisfying cleaning your tongue. Once you use a tongue scraper you will never go back!
Setting intentions- I put on my headphones and turn on a 10-15 minute guided meditation in my ears. I use the app Alo Moves which has a plethora of guided meditations ranging from 5 - 30 minutes. I like to keep my gratitude journal near me and after the mediation I take just a few simple minutes to jot down any notes of gratitude, goals for the day, or a simple to-do list so I feel less anxious about everything I need to get done for that day! This tactic helps to clear my head of any excess clutter.
Put your workout clothes out the night before! If you’re NOT a morning person.. this is the simplest way to feel organized and not even have to give your morning workout a second thought! No excuses! Have your activewear folded and ready to put on so you are in uniform and ready to move your body! Movement is key to feeling your best from the inside out.
Prepare your MATCHA! I have replaced my morning cuppa coffee with a matcha that I bring with me as a takeaway and have on the drive to work. It’s probably the highlight of my morning routine. I love that matcha doesn’t give you the jittery / anxious feeling after consuming. Matcha is like a warm hug from your nana and the good energy lasts all day! I like to prepare my matcha using Matcha Wednesday powder, coconut milk, organic macca powder honey, and a dash of cinnamon!
Ground yourself before you go. I put my bare feet into the grass in the morning before I hop into my car and just take a few slow deep breaths. Getting fresh air in your lungs and grounding your feet into the earth is an instant pick-me-up.
